Dr Doirean Wilson received an invitation from US Ambassador to the UK, Matthew Barzun and London Mayor Sadiq Khan, to attend a British Black History Month reception to celebrate the late boxer Muhammad Ali’s life.   This event which took place on Thursday 13 October 2016, at  the Ambassador’s residence Winfield House, in Regent’s Street, was very well attended. Good news: Building Bridges sent to the Home Office!

Dr Doirean Wilson received `good news over the weekend` as it was confirmed that the `Building Bridges` project that she wrote collaboratively with British Nigerian Singer, Actress & Entrepreneur, Patti Boulaye OBE, CEO of the BIPADA Academy, has now been sent to the Home Office by the Prime Minister’s Office. The draft of this educational project that draws on Doirean’s cultural respect study, which aims to promote awareness, nurture harmony and address conflict among diverse communities in Britain, was first presented to former British Prime Minister, Sir John Major. Sir John Major was so impressed by the project that he decided to take it to PM David Cameron who thought it was good enough to pass to the Home Office to be considered for delivery across the UK. Patti confirmed in her message to Doirean that she had, “Heard from Sir John, the PM likes the project, it’s now with the Home Office”. But it does not end there, as one team of Doirean’s recent cohort of MBS3012 business consulting students, who called themselves `Esoteric`,  was commissioned by Patti to carry out further research for the `Building Bridges` Project. The intention was to ascertain whether there was a need to promote harmony among different cultures in Britain.
